The product, in the report: Wagner Heat Tool Model 236333. 60HZ, 120 V, 1200 Watt. P/N 0503655 Made in China. Yellow body. Model 2363333

A Wagner brand heat gun clearly in the off position started to melt and smoke in and around the on/off switch which would have probably went on fire if not discovered by a crew working late. It was left plugged in on a work table at my commercial business. It was clearly in the off position because the unit melted and the switch cannot be moved. This is very scary. If not for a crew doing late night work on our network, this could have been disastrous. I’ve sent an email to Wagner explaining the incident as well but I’m clearly shook and thought it needs to be reported.

The product, in the report: Last week I was using my Wagner HT3500 heat gun in my personal workshop on my property. Almost an hour after finishing using the heat gun, from my office about 30 feet away, I began to see smoke rising from the workshop. The workshop and all of its contents, were completely destroyed by the fire. At this point we are estimating the total cost of damages to be in excess of $60,000. Our homeowners insurance is currently investigating the source of the fire and at this time we believe the heat gun to be the probable cause.
