The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 16, 2019, sent to the company May 7, 2019, published by CPSC May 21, 2019

The product, in the report: Midway Arms Model 1292 Tumbler (for polishing bullet casings during reloading).

A Model 1292 Tumbler from Midway Arms stopped working and then the motor caught fire and ignited sawdust and papers on my garage floor. If I hadn’t been present at the time, my house would have burned down. I was able to stomp out the flames and de-energize the defective product. This is a product that is commonly used unattended for many hours.

A previous version of this product was recalled (see attached). I spoke with Midway Arms today (4/8/2019) and[REDACTED], customer service representative, and [REDACTED], Floor Supervisor, tell me that the version of my product is not covered by the previous recall. My product has a bar code sticker on the bottom which they tell me identifies it as a later product manufacture date, although it is extremely similar in appearance and design to the previous product and carries the same model number. The previous recall is attached.
