The product, in the report: Drill Master Rotary Tool SKU 63292 purchased at Harbor Freight in October 2022
I was using a Harbor Freight Drill Master Rotary Tool (SKU 63292) which I purchased within the past 30 days for the first time to sand a rock. I worked for about 2-3 minutes at a time and then would take a break to inspect progress. About 20 minutes of use the plug exploded with sparks and smoke, sending a plastic part flying in the air which glanced off the side of my face. I was un-injured as I was wearing safety glasses and a respirator.

No one hurt Made Apr 3, 2014, sent to the company Apr 14, 2014, published by CPSC Apr 28, 2014
The product, in the report: Drill master heat gun. Item # 96289 / JSRF-601C, sold by Harbor Freight Tools.
I purchased a 120 volt drill master Heat Gun, Item #96289 today from Harbor Freight Hardware in Commack, NY. I tested it tonight and after depressing the trigger on the low heat for only the second time, something clicked inside and the unit started billowing smoke from the end and the motor vents. I unplugged it immediately and opened a window before the smoke detectors went off. After the incident I read reviews on Amazon and there was at least one review that detailed the same result - smoke pouring out of the device. I believe this unit presents a fire hazard and should be recalled/removed from the market.
I will be returning it to the store tomorrow unless you need to inspect it.
