The product, in the report: Dewalt 1/2 inch high power impact DCF961 wrench
Under normal operation of the dcf 961 dewalt impact gun . The open ventilation ports on the rear of the housing ejected debris on numerous occasion at my face and eyes. I noted on the users manual they state to blow air into the fans port once a week to reduce hazardous debris , wear z87.1 safety glasses due to eye injury risk. Under normal operation the motor fan exerts forced air out these very same open ventilation ports on the rear of the housing allowing debris to be forcefully ejected at the user during normal operation. Dewalt knows but failed to warn about the same hazard during normal operation. The dcf 961, dcf964, and the compact atomic series are the higesht power models dewalt designer removed the ventilation port gaurds leaving them open. On ALL other lower power models of dewalt impacts ventilation port gaurds are in place . Removing the protective gaurds without mesh or a screen inplace creates a factory design defect that injures users during normal operation
