First aid Made Aug 9, 2025, sent to the company Aug 13, 2025, published by CPSC Aug 27, 2025
The product, in the report: It is a 3-1/2 cu. ft. concrete mixer purchased at Harbor Freight. The mixer has a bright orange color. The brand of the item is CENTRAL MACHINERY . Selling price online at $269.99. The store SKU(s) no. is 67536, 31979, 61932.
I bought a concrete mixer at Harbor Freight. While installing and set up the concrete mixer, I rotated it to install the bolts around the drum. My finger was stuck to the spinning gear of the drum, and it cut my finger deeply. After the installation, I see that the spinning gear that cut me still does not have anything cover it based on the item’s design. It poses a huge risk for finger laceration or even cut off finger of the mixer is plugged to the power.

First aid Made Aug 7, 2017, sent to the company Aug 18, 2017, published by CPSC Sep 1, 2017
The product, in the report: 5lb Capacity, Removable Polyethylene drum for easy cleanup, Drum opening 7.75in, Drum Depth 4-5/8”, Power rated 120vac/60hz/0.6A Good for removing rust and corrosion from multiple parts at the same time.
I use this tumbler as does numerous others (as I have read about the same problem from them on other websites) to tumble our ammo brass to clean it for reloading. What happens with the Harbor Freight 5lb model is after about 45 minutes of run time the center threaded rod gets extremely hot, I burned my fingers to where I had blisters! Then on the 2nd time I made sure I was not over the weight limit of 5lbs total media and brass, I turned it on, I remained in the area working and the tumbler sounded strange so I turned around, the lid came off, the bowl was spinning, dust and media was going everywhere, I went to turn it off and went into a coughing fit from the dust, the center rod yet again was extremely hot!, the wing nut and metal washer that goes on top of the lid to keep the lid on was hot as well. I waited for 15 minutes to let the rod cool, as far as I could tell the motor was not overheated, but it is completely covered so have no idea, I tried to move the bowl it was secured and did not move as it should. As hot as this gets so quickly I feel it is a fire hazard, other companies build these tumblers are very similarly made but they are ran for hours a day, as like 2 hours, 4 hours, some report they tumble for 6 hours at a time and have no problems. All that own Harbor freight tumbler have these problems I described to you, some fixed theirs by replacing the small center rod with a larger sae threaded rod and use a nut to lock down the wingnut for the lid. I have owned this tumbler for about 2 weeks, I am to try to replace it tomorrow.
