The product, in the report: Black & Decker RO 100 5” Orbit Sander Palm Grip

I was using the Black & Decker RO 100 5” Orbital Sander, sanding some wood, all of the sudden the black paten broke off stiking me in the face. I sustained lacerations on my front of upper lip and mustache area, also 4 lacerations on my nose and nostril area. After I was struck with the faulty product, it dazzed and scared me, it took me a few moments to unplugged the Sander because I was injured and in shock so I just unplugged the cord. I put my hands on my face nose and mouth to see if I had blood, I sure did, my safety glasses were still on, so I stumbled my way inside the house and called for assistance from my Wife, she lead me to the sink and started to soak towels with cold water so I can clean my face. After several attempts of doing this, I cleaned most of the blood, and I noticed I have 4 lacerations that are deep on front of my nose and nostril area. I applied [REDACTED] on my wounds.. I have difficulty breathing from nose, and have headaches. I did not go to seek medical treatment at this time, I’m looking into my options. I had a rough night sleeping, and still in pain. Tuesday morning February 07, 2012 I contacted Black & Decker company and spoke to two people first was [REDACTED], no last name given and I called back and spoke to [REDACTED], no last name given to file a report and see what are my options are. [REDACTED] took my information and stated someone from Black & Decker will contact me within 2 days, she gave me a reference number [REDACTED]. I feel this product is a safety hazard and read online that several models of Black & Decker RO sanders had been recalled. This product injured me severely, I feel and believe I will have facial scars and future issues. I also took photos of my facial injuries and of the broken Black & Decker RO Sander.
