The product, in the report: honeywell safe model 2077D by Sisco (now First Alert model 2077DF)
honeywell safe model 2077D manufactured approximately 3 years ago (now it’s called First Alert model 2077df)
had to replace the AA batteries after about one year and upon placing new batteries in the inside door for the electronic keypad the unit begin smoking heavily. batteries started to also melt inside the battery casing. i had to use a screwdriver to pry loose battery casing out of door and rip the unit with 4 batteries out to stop the smoking which exposed one very hot wire which poked my finger and caused a burn.
flimsy backup key lock broke off key when i tried to open it.
