The product, in the report: Awesafe biometric gun safe
I have an Awesafe biometric gun safe. I discovered my safe lost its programmed biometric code and now allows every fingerprint to open the gun safe. This was a near miss!!! I found this out because I found my gun had been tampered with. A family member admitted to it afterwards, and I confirmed their fingerprints open the safe (along with every other finger from 4 people).

No one hurt Made Jan 7, 2026, sent to the company Jan 12, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 9, 2026
The product, in the report: Awesafe Gun safe
I am submitting this formal complaint regarding an Awesafe biometric gun safe that is defective and presents a serious safety hazard. Despite repeated requests for a replacement or resolution, the manufacturer has failed to remedy the issue, leaving me without access to my firearm and personal belongings.
Product: Awesafe Biometric Gun Safe Issue: Biometric lock malfunction / failure to provide remedy Initial Remedy Request Date: December 5, 2025
The biometric lock on this safe has malfunctioned in a hazardous manner. At one point, it would unlock using my two-year-old grandsons fingerprint, creating an unacceptable risk of unauthorized access to a firearm. The safe has since ceased functioning entirely, preventing access to its contents, including my firearm.
Despite multiple written requests and correspondence with the manufacturer, Awesafe has failed to provide a replacement safe, keys, or any effective resolution, responding only with vague assurances such as Okay, it will be to you shortly.
This situation constitutes: A serious child safety risk Non-compliance with manufacturer obligations to provide a functioning safe Unreasonable denial of access to legally owned property
I have retained all email correspondence documenting my attempts to resolve this matter. I request immediate investigation and intervention to compel the manufacturer to fulfill its obligations and mitigate the safety hazard.

The product, in the report: Awesafe gun safe with fingerpint ID and biometric lock
I purchased an Awesafe gun safe with fingerprint ID and biometric lock on January 5th, 2023. Although the gun safes have been recalled as anyone can open the safe with the fingerprint ID, the company refuses to replace it. They state that the recall only includes safes bought prior to December of 2022. I have emailed them and they say it is not included in the recall although it is unsafe.

No incident, no one hurt Made Oct 21, 2023, sent to the company Oct 24, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 7, 2023
The product, in the report: Awesafe Quick Access gun safe. 9.9”D x 12.1”W x 3.2”H
A gun safe named [REDACTED] recently recalled 60,000 of their gun safes because of a dangerous biometric feature that allows anyone’s fingerprint to open the safe when it’s in default mode. Apparently many people didn’t realize this, so when they thought the safe was locked and it could only be opened using their own fingerprint, in reality it would open using anyone’s fingerprint.
My gun safe is an Awesafe and it works exactly the same way as the [REDACTED] gun safe that was recalled. For a period of time I thought it my gun safe was locked, and could only be opened with a code or with my fingerprint. However, in reality it could be opened with anyone’s fingerprint because it was in default mode, but I thought it had been set for just my fingerprint
