The product, in the report: The product is a Red audible signal device for fire alarm systems. It is installed on a wall to sound alarm when fire alarm system activates. The device is about 2 1/2” wide and 4 1/4” Long.
Fire department was called to residence by AFA alarm company to report a audible fire alarm device had fire damage to it. I spoke with the resident who stated she smelled smoke the previous day but could not locate the source. The following morning her son pointed out the damage to the fire alarm.
The city electrical inspector was called to the scene and it is his opinion that the device failed. Photos of the device were taken and the unit is to be replace this morning.
