The product, in the report: BRK Smoke Alarm Model #9120B according to box. User’s Manual inside box states First Alert. I do not know how to find the Serial number, date manufactured, or manufacture date code. Also, the last number on the UPC Code, 4, is the check digit; I was not sure if I needed to include the check digit number. I took a lot of videos of the smoke alarm going off when it shouldn’t and can provide those if needed. Note, this smoke alarm does not go off when there is smoke in the apartment. However, it does go off during routine cooking and using the toaster to toast bread. The BRK First Alert Model #9120B goes off during normal cooking. It is set off by my toaster. Steam from boiling pasta sets it off. If I sautee onions in a small pan, it goes off. If I scramble eggs in a small pan it goes off. It has been happening for over 2.5 years now. The most recent occurrence is what I listed in number 2. The smoke alarm going off during routine cooking has caused distress for both myself and my emotional support cat and other two cats. The sound has been traumatizing to myself and my cats and has aggravated my mental health conditions and caused feline herpes virus flare ups in my cats as well as has caused my cats to excessively groom and throw up hairballs from the excessive grooming. I could not capture this information in the block about injuries due to how it is designed. Please have the manufacturer also contact the leasing office staff at [REDACTED] as well as contacting me since their leasing manager said they use these smoke alarms in all of the apartments. I’ve uploaded the contact information for the apartment leasing in the pictures. Their website is: [REDACTED]

I have repeatedly informed the apartment complex of this issue on numerous occasions and fire department and medical professionals have been at my home for safety checks on me and I’ve reported this to them and Mecklenburg Police Department in Charlotte, NC.
