The product, in the report: Moen Adler Single-Handle Lever Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray in Deck Plate
This is regarding a Moen Adler Single-Handle Lever Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray in Deck Plate (Model #87605 series) that was installed in my kitchen by a licensed plumber in August of 2022. As I turned the water on using the faucet handle, the side spray handle suddenly shot up into the air followed by a stream of water coming from the side spray hose. After closer examination it would appear the threaded collar that attaches the side handle spray head to the hose cracked causing a section of the threaded collar to break off. The force of water pressure and a spring mounted under the handle caused the side spray handle to launch into the air. I was not injured as a result of this failure. This marks the second time an incident like this has occurred. The first time was about September of 2023. I was also not injured during this first incident.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Sep 7, 2018, sent to the company Sep 14, 2018, published by CPSC Oct 5, 2018
The product, in the report: moen kitchen faucet
We had a larger custom home built several years ago, Which we use primarily as 1 of our vacation homes. During construction we went for the huge upgrade of using entirely moen products through the entire home due to there great reputation, However after using there product for a few years we have noticed a major flaw in your kitchen faucets a negligent flaw to be exact, The issue we have been facing has caused health problems as well as severe damage to our house, moen kitchen faucets that have a detachable head have begun to leak and cannot be seen by the user/owner and as we do not use the area underneath our sink for anything and have small children, we have all the cupboards locked, after returning from a six month vacation at another property when we arrived at this house we smelled a strong odor of mold and noticed mold on the backside of our island which are kitchen faucet/sink is located after careful review and inspection we and our plumber figured out that the damage to our kitchen is being caused by one of the there moen faucets in the kitchen. What is happening is the metal mesh flexible pipe begins to leak in the neck of the faucet which cannot be seen to the eye, and when left unchecked flooded our locked unused cabinet causing severe damage as well as causing our family to breath in mold. This is a major flaw no type of faucet or mesh pipe should be able to leak in a hidden faucet area .

No incident, no one hurt Made May 8, 2013, sent to the company May 15, 2013, published by CPSC May 30, 2013
The product, in the report: 4 of Moen 96797 Chateau One-Handle Tub and Shower Knob Handle Kit. Condition: New Sold by: Wholesale Plumbing Number on Package WP-6797 Moen* Single Handle Tub & Shower Knob #96797* Replacement (NS)
Received four faucet handles with ‘H[ot]’ and ‘C[old]’ labeled on the wrong sides. The company told me many people were receiving my identical product; it was not a printing error. There is a severe risk of scalding, especially to young children and elderly guests in my home bathrooms who are not familiar with how hot my termostat gets. There is no modification for this dangerous product. Reversing the cartridge inside my faucet would leave the ‘C[old]’ backwards and confuse the user. Reversing the cartridge also takes a special tool. called a cartridge puller, which WholesalePiumbing.com LLC sells separately. The company literally laughed at my safety concern. I filed complaints with Amazon.com and BBB, and was refunded full purchase price. The company removed the photo (Attachment B) they were using on Amazon when I placed my order, which clearly shows ‘C[old]’ on the right. Attachment C contains the actual, defective product. The photo currently in use at http://www.amazon.com/Moen-96797-Chateau-One-Handle-Shower/dp/B00084RSKQ is misleading--although the ‘H’ and ‘C’ are absent--the blue strip along the right side indicates cold. This is also advertised as a Moen product, and the ‘H’ and ‘C’ are clearly indicated on the original Moen product. The physical packaging indicates Moen is NOT the manufacturer of this product.

Hurt, care not known Made Jan 14, 2013, sent to the company Jan 29, 2013, published by CPSC Feb 12, 2013
The product, in the report: Moen One handle Pullout kitchen faucet
In November, 2012, my husband and I bought a new Moen Onehandle Pullout kitchen faucet, model number CA87316C, which was installed on November 13, 2012. Several days after we had it installed, I started smelling a chemical smell, when the cold water was being used. I am very sensitive to certain smells and it has made me feel ill whenever I smell it. I have looked online and many other people with Moen kitchen faucets seem to have the same problem. Because I wash my hands at the kitchen sink many times a day, make coffee with water from that faucet, as well as use it for cooking, I am very concerned as to what is causing the smell and how dangerous it may be. I have read that people who have complained to Moen about this, have been told that it is the hose that is causing the problem, but people who have replaced the hose still have the same problem.
I wanted the CPSC to be aware of this (I believe other people have also written of this problem) and find out, if you know, what follow-up, if any, has been done and what has been found out about this product.

First aid Made May 25, 2011, published by CPSC Jun 17, 2011
The product, in the report: bath tub water spout.
My 8 year old daughter got her back scraped on the shower faucet.
While taking a bath, the shampoo fell on the tub. She turned her back on the shower, bent over to pick up the shampoo. Apparently, she was too closed to the faucet such that when she tried to stand up, her back (around her waist line) was caught in the faucet causing her a deep cut running about an inch long.
A similar incident happened to my 10 year old daughter a few months back.
I am sure a number of households have experience the same incidents specially when the kids start to bath themselves on their own.
I hope the government look into this and come up with a regulation to make sure shower faucets/water spouts are designed to be more kids-friendly and safe.
