The product, in the report: HTR 40 KW 800 Plastic Revol from Balboa water group. Serial number partly damaged by the fire.

Fire units responded to [REDACTED] for fire in the backyard of the residence. Reporting party stated he saw smoke coming from the back yard of the structure and alerted 911 and the home owner who was in the garage at the time. The home owner went to the back yard to find the hot tub was on fire. He used a garden hose and home extinguisher to extinguish the flames. MPD unit on scene updated MFD units that the fire had been extinguished and response could be downgraded from emergent. As R-2 arrived on scene, white smoke was visible coming from the back yard, FF [REDACTED] and FF [REDACTED] proceeded to investigate. The hot tub was resting on a concrete pad bordered by a cedar fence on two sides. The hot tub unit was completely burned through the plastic paneling on the front and side and had extensive fire damage internally. No fire damage was sustained to the fencing or residence. E-2 arrived on scene and canceled other responding fire units. MFD then removed the hot tub cover and used the TIC and garden hose to eliminate hot spots. R-2 returned to service while E-2 remained on scene. MFD drained the hot tub of the water and moved the unit off of the concrete pad. [REDACTED] was called to investigate the incident. Property was then turned over to the home owner.

The fire investigation revealed that the hot tub was less then 2 years old. It was purchased through Paradise Spas and Motorsports in Minot, ND. A master electrician wired the hot tub. An electrician confirmed the hot tub was properly wired at the time of the fire. The fire originated inside of the heating element.
