The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

Made Jan 13, 2018, sent to the company Jan 24, 2018, published by CPSC Feb 7, 2018

The product, in the report: Dakota Bench 71”

My mother-in-law (69) was getting up off the bench and it gashed into her foot (just above her toe). She felt bad bringing it up so didn’t talk about it much, but when we dug into it a little bit more after hearing about the recall, she said it actually took about 6 weeks to fully recover, and she was staying off it as much as possible and quite uncomfortable during the recovery period. I felt terrible.

In a separate incident, my wife’s aunt was over recently, and the bench tipped over and bruised her leg badly. The bench did not tip over completely this time, unfortunately because our aunt’s leg stopped gravity from playing out. We are unsure of the recovery period - we can get those details if needed - but were told that the bruise lasted for well over two weeks.

Both incidents were really terrible, and we were very pleased to see this product recall. We have had to constantly instruct our guests to be careful when sitting down on that bench.
