The product, in the report: Adjustable pivotable “’surge protection” power cord with 6 outlets
I purchased this unique flexible “pivoting” extension multiple outlet cord via a catalog approximately mid-December 2011(I can’t recall the name of the catalog however). But it had remained in original packaging until several weeks ago, since I had no immediate need to use. Upon plugging the new (never used) extension cord into the wall, the product instantly sparked at one of the joints, smoke began to exit the joint and the plastic rapidly began to melt. I unplugged the product and will discard.
