The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 24, 2021, sent to the company Mar 11, 2021, published by CPSC Mar 25, 2021

The product, in the report: LIFE SUPPLY USA 75’ 12/3 yellow extension cord with male plug on one end and a triple female plug on other end. I have pictures and the cord ends to verify my claim

12/3 gauge 3 wire yellow 75’ electrical extension cords with a triple tap outlet on one end with the “LIFE SUPPLYUSA label on them have the polarity reversed on both ends of the cord. In other words the white and black wires have been swapped with each other. The male and female ends of the cord are clear, making it able to see this serious problem. You can use a simple [REDACTED] ($6) plug tester that will show if the polarity is correct and what the problem is if the item being tested is faulted. Plug one end of cord into the wall and insert the plug tester into the other end. I bought two of these cords on Ebay and informed them, but they have done nothing about it. [REDACTED] also sells them. On Ebay it is item #192741104948 sold by LIFE SUPPLY USA. These cords are mass manufactured and imminent danger to life and injury from electrical shock.

The big hazard exists if a consumer replaces the male or female end of the cord and attaches the white cord wire on the silver screw of the cord end being replaced and the black wire of the cord on the dark colored screw (as is required by the National Electrical Code) of the cord end being replaced because the manufacturer has the wires reversed at time of manufacturing, using the black wire as the neutral and the white wire as the “hot “.
