The product, in the report: Various kinds of male-to-male “suicide cords” on amazon.com
Amazon.com is selling dangerous and illegal (against NEC) male-to-male power cables, colloquially called “suicide cables”. These are dangerous because when plugged into an electrical outlet the exposed conductors on the other end of the cable are energized and can shock anybody touching them. Adding to the danger, these cables are often used to “backfeed” electrical power from a generator into a home electrical outlet instead of using a safe and legal interlock or transfer switch. The backfed voltage can make its way to the transformer and be multiplied thousands of times and injure or kill linemen during an outage. Here are examples of these products on Amazon.com. Many are listed and this is not exhaustive:www.amazon.com/dp/B0DTHHLQ41
