The product, in the report: Indoor Extension Cord with Foot Control, by Home Accents Holiday, distributed by the Home Depot. Length is 6 feet, 16/2, 3 Outlet Cord with “Safety Covers”, Electrical rating:125V, 13A, 1625W, there is also a number “110 659” on the package
We bought a “Indoor Extension Cord with Foot Switch” made by Home Accents, distributed by the Home Depot. The purpose of this device is to control some indoor christmas lights by stepping on the switch with your foot. My son plugged the extension cord into a wall outlet, then went to plug some christmas lights into it. It fell apart and when he went to grab it again, HE RECEIVED AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK. THIS DEVICE COULD HAVE ELECTROCUTED HIM. He yelled for me and I ran into the room and he told me what happened. I unplugged the extension cord and inspected the female end. I found the protective outer cover separated and the METAL SOCKETS COMPLETELY EXPOSED!!!! I can send in pictures of the device if they are needed.
