The product, in the report: 40 ft. Retractable Cord Reel with Triple Tap Vanguard - Item#62952
I purchased a retractable cord reel from Harbor Freight www.harborfreight.com at a retail store in Atlanta. I installed and used it, but discovered it didn’t on several of my tools. I used an electrical circuit tester and discovered that the Hot and Neutral on the unit were reversed. I double check the incoming circuit and it was properly wired. Hot and neutral reversed can cause electrical shock on some devices. I informed the company of the problem with the equipment. They said there was no recall on it, and only offered to replace it if it was less than 90 days old. I was not, nor was anyone else hurt, this is just a dangerous product defect.
