The product, in the report: Trent Austin design George “78 Track sofa, distributed by wayfair. Polyester blend, Foam and sinuous springs. 35 x 78 x 32.5
I purchased a couch on Wayfair, and after assembling the piece in my home, I noticed that my hands were inflamed and itchy. When I washed them with soap and water the rash went away, so I believe the reaction was caused by an irritant in the furniture. I did some research online and it turns out that this is a common problem for couches originating in China. These companies include the chemical Dimerhyl Fumarate (DMF) to act as an anti-molding agent. Many people have reported having similar reactions tha I have had. I didn’t even touch the gel packets directly, so this tells me the chemical has contaminated the entire piece of furniture. This substance is banned in Europe - it needs to be banned in th USA!
Item specifications: TRENT AUSTIN DESIGN George “78 Track arm sofa. Manufactured in China, sold by Wayfair. Assembly required.
