First aid Made Oct 15, 2026, sent to the company Oct 21, 2026, published by CPSC Nov 4, 2026
The product, in the report: Black Maverick leather reclining sofa with a built\-in entertainment console, featuring cup holders and a comfortable reclining design\. Purchased from Moore Furniture About 8 feet by 4 feet.
We recently purchased brand-new sofas, never imagining that something as ordinary as furniture in our living room could become such a serious safety hazard.
My children were playing and climbing on our new sofas when, suddenly, one of the sofas tipped over, trapping my daughters leg underneath , It was an extremely frightening moment, and the thought of how much worse this accident could have been is deeply upsetting.
After the incident, we examined the sofa more closely and made an alarming discovery: it takes very little force or pressure for this sofa to tip over. The instability is shocking and raises serious concerns about its design, balance, and overall safety
I understand that children should not climb on furniture, but children playing in their own home is a foreseeable situation. A sofa should not become a dangerous tipping hazard so easily, especially when it is brand, new and intended for everyday family use.
