The product, in the report: Three person standard size reclining sofa made by Southern Motion, Inc. This particular product is in their Inspire line. This sofa has switches on both sides (outside the armrest) that control the electric motors that recline an raise and lower the top of the seat in the headrest area. It also has a charging port for electronic devices like phones, [REDACTED], games, etc.

Southern Motion Inspire sofa I was reclining my sofa and when I released the switch, it kept reclining until it fully reclined (not normal). Then it would not return to the upright position and I smelled an odor like hot electrical wires or short circuit. I had to disconnect the electric motor from the reclining mechanism and unplug the unit to prevent a possible fire. I don’t trust this sofa any longer.
