First aid Made Jun 19, 2026, sent to the company Jun 24, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 10, 2026
The product, in the report: Crate and Barrel, Axis 105” Grande Sofa, SKU 542721
Product - Crate and Barrel Axis sofa, 105 inch, upholstered. Purchased new in 2025. Incident summary - A nail was protruding from the front left lower side of the sofa frame. My 3-year-old child scraped his forearm against the lower frame and the protruding nail cut his skin, causing bleeding. The injury was treated at home. No medical visit was required. The nail appears to have worked loose from the frame construction, a manufacturing or workmanship defect, as it was not visible or protruding at the time of purchase. Hazard - A sharp metal fastener protruding from the lower frame of an upholstered sofa poses a laceration risk, particularly to small children whose height puts them at the level of the lower frame. I have temporarily pushed the nail back in to prevent further injury, but the underlying defect, a fastener able to migrate out of the frame, may persist or recur. Injury - Laceration to the forearm of a 3-year-old child, with bleeding. Treated at home. Resolution sought - Reporting for product-safety record. I have also contacted Crate and Barrel to request inspection and repair under warranty.

No incident, no one hurt Made Jun 9, 2025, sent to the company Jun 24, 2025, published by CPSC Jul 9, 2025
The product, in the report: Oceanside 102” Wide-Arm Sofa, Fabric: Ascend, Desert Merchandise: $2,299.00 Merchandise Discount: -$229.90 Shipping: $279.00 Tax: $129.32 Order Total: $2,477.42
I purchased a sofa from Crate & Barrel in Jan 2025, that got delivered to my home on March 8, 2025. Within two months of light use, sharp feathers began poking out of the seat cushions. These feathers are not only visibly protruding but also coming loose and spreading around the living area. We have a young kid in the house, and despite being cautious, weve had multiple instances where she picked up and attempted to put the feathers in her mouth. This is a serious choking hazard and a safety concern. The feathers are small, sharp, and difficult to track or vacuum thoroughly. We are unable to supervise her 100% of the time, and this defect presents a persistent health risk. Despite reaching out to Crate & Barrel with our concerns , we were only told that feather migration is normal and no corrective action was taken. This response shows no regard for the safety hazard this defect poses in a household with small children.
