The product, in the report: The product is a brown power sofa
On 08/30/2023, the consumer pushed the button to lower leg rest on her power sofa, but it suddenly stopped. She pushed button again to restart the leg rest, but instead, she felt a shock sensation. The shock originated in her fingertips and radiated through her legs and up to her head. Her vision went dark and all she could see was a black and white grid for several moments. The consumer is uncertain how long the shock left her dazed - probably a few minutes.
The consumer suffered a burn on her buttock and was diagnosed with an electrical shock. She is presently treating for symptoms stemming from the same.
The consumer purchased the power sofa in April 2017 from a retailer. The retailer’s records indicated that the power sofa was manufactured by Cheers / Cheers Manwah USA. The sales invoice lists the power sofa as “RHINEHART PWR SOFA W/PWR HDRST,” product number 471258728. It is unclear whether these are the retailer’s identifiers or the manufacturer’s identifiers.
