The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jan 19, 2026, sent to the company Jan 21, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 10, 2026

The product, in the report: Connell 3-pc. Power-Reclining Sectional Sofa w/ Heat and Massage from Raymour and Flanigan

Electric heated reclining couch purchased from Raymour & Flanigan (Cherry Hill, NJ) in May 2019. While I was sitting on the couch, the built-in heater element burned a hole in the fabric behind me, leaving red/charring around the area. Upon inspection, the insulation around the internal heating wire appears burned off and missing, and the surrounding foam is charred. My husband later found a similar burn on his recliner seat even though he rarely used the heat. If I dod not notice this amd unplug, I have no doubt the product would have caught on fire.

The product, in the report: Everett Chenille Power Loveseat ski # 205274880

We bought a Everett Chenille Power loveseat from Raymour and Flanigan, SKU # 205274880 we order it on 1/24/2025 and we noticed when you lay out both seats and you try to get up out of the seat, that the whole thing tips forward and we have two dogs and we believe that is unsafe so what we do is we put a Ottoman under one that’s fully laid out we put the other one halfway out so that way it doesn’t tip forward.

    The product, in the report: Harmony leather sofa black W: 80.5” x D: 37.5” x H: 38.5”

30 y old woman developed severe diffuse rash in the back of legs, trunk and buttock. It started after buying a leather sofa (black Harmony by Bellanest Hong Kong at Raymour and Flanigan in New York City in December 2020). The rash has become more diffuse, it causes severe itching and burning. It has affected her ability to function She was initially treated with topical agents for possible eczema, with no improvement . She is now on immunotherapy. The location of the rash prompted my review of the literature available: I learned about DMF allergy and how the EU has banned this biocide because of toxic sofa dermatitis over 10 yrs ago
