The product, in the report: Ashley Axiom walnut leather sofa model #4200035

I recently purchased a new leather sofa and love seat which has a noxious chemical odor that is causing my eyes to burn, making me nauseous, irritating my sinuses and giving me headaches. This odor is not a natural, earthy leather smell. It is a toxic, chemical smell similar to glue, paint, or varnish and it permeates and transfers onto anything in contact with the furniture such as clothing, pillows or blankets. I am working with the retailer, Ashley Furniture, to remove the furniture from my home. The Furniture Series is Axiom Walnut and the Model # is 4200035 and 4200038. I am very concerned about the health consequences of exposure to this chemical smell. I am also concerned for other consumers who may not be so wise. How can a consumer be sure the products they purchase are free of harmful chemicals? Is there some way to test this odor? Thank you, [REDACTED]
