The product, in the report: All weather outdoor porch rockers
The chairs’ rocker base appears to have a dangerous design flaw. The bottom curved rocker is not curved enough to keep the chair stable when in use. When a person leans back in the chair in a normal and reasonable way, the chair flips backwards. This has already occurred to me personally: the chair flipped backwards when I leaned back, and I fell. I was fortunate not to be injured, but the incident demonstrated how easily this product could cause serious injuries, particularly to children, older adults, or people with limited mobility or balance. Because of this problem, I have had to place plastic door stops under the rear area of the rocker base to prevent the chairs from flipping backwards. This workaround is not a safe or appropriate long-term solution and underscores that the product, as designed, is unstable. I am requesting that your agency: 1. Investigate this product for potential design defects and safety hazards, and
2. Determine whether a safety notice or recall is warranted to protect other consumers.
I am willing to provide photographs, video demonstrations, purchase documentation, and any additional information that may be helpful to your review. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your efforts to protect consumer safety. Sincerely, [REDACTED]
