  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 16, 2026, sent to the company Jun 22, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 8, 2026

The product, in the report: 27.6 in. Beige Teddy Fabric Rocking Chair with High Backrest and Side Pockets and Wood Legs for Living Room, Bedroom

On Saturday, an adult was sitting in a nursery rocking chair while holding a 2 month old infant. During normal use, the rocking chair unexpectedly broke and collapsed. The failure appeared to occur at the base of the chair, causing it to suddenly give way.

The product involved was a nursery rocking chair recliner intended for adult seating while caring for an infant. The chair was being used as intended for holding and soothing the infant.

At the time of the incident, an adult caregiver was seated in the chair holding the infant. When the chair collapsed, there was concern that the infant may have bumped his head during the incident, although this could not be confirmed. A small red mark was noticed afterward, but it was unclear whether it was related to the incident.

Because of the possibility of injury, the infant was evaluated at a pediatric emergency department as a precaution. A physician examined the infant and determined that no imaging or further testing was necessary. No confirmed injuries were diagnosed. However, the sudden structural failure of the chair created a risk of serious injury to both the infant and the adult caregiver.

This report is being submitted due to concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the product, as a chair intended for use by caregivers holding infants should not fail during normal use.
