The product, in the report: 7pc cardona dining patio set Martha Stewart Living / Casual Living - 4 chairs, 1 table, 2 swivel rockers Home Depot #1948 May 25, 2010
We purchased a 7pc set Martha Stewart Living Patio set - 4 chairs, 1 table, 2 swivel rockers, from local our Home Depot in May 2010. In mid-October 2023, my significant other sat in one of the swivel rockers and it broke at the base.
He suffered a simple elbow bruise (and a bruised ego) when he hit the floor, but narrowly missed bumping his head on the table edge when he toppled – obivously this could have been a much worse situation.
After the incident, we inspected the matching rocker and found that it has cracks in the same area of the swivel base. Both chairs have been removed from service and placed in a safe area for now.
Considering the initial cost and the fact that we enjoy using this patio set, we wanted to repair or replace the damaged unit. In searching the internet for parts or a matching replacement, we came across the recall information which matches the product we purchased:
Casual Living Worldwide Recalls Swivel Patio Chairs Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Home Depot” (https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/Casual-Living-Worldwide-Recalls-Swivel-Patio-Chairs)
We have attempted contacting Casual Living Worldwide per the information found at https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/Casual-Living-Worldwide-Recalls-Swivel-Patio-Chairs
However the toll-free number at 855-899-2127 always gives busy signal. Likewise, the indicated website: http://www.casuallivingoutdoors.com is apparently no longer be accessible - to wit: “Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site. We can’t connect to the server at www.casuallivingoutdoors.com.” is the return results in the browser window.
I would replacement parts or replacement units if possible, or a refund.
