The product, in the report: Graco Parker Semi-Upholstered Glider and Nursing Ottoman Model Number 06442-414-DM PO Number A000712

Late in the evening in our nursery I was feeding my 7 month old infant in the Graco Parker Glider. She was taking a break from eating and I had her over my shoulder for burping when I simultaneously heard wood snap and we went crashing to the floor. To my shock and horror my little one went tumbling head first onto the floor, gravity taking her all the way over my shoulder onto the ground and tumbling her somersault fashion end over end. My wrists were injured from the fall and she was crying inconsolably. I had to keep watch on her for 24 hours for signs of concussion or other neurological problems. I am appalled that a product purchased new, just 7 months earlier, would break in this manner. I am a light weight person and we were not even rocking much when this occurred. There was no creaking or other indicators that the chair might break apart in this manner. I am concerned for other caregivers and their little ones should this happen to them. I ended up flat on my back and my baby on her head. It could’ve caused major injury to us both. I am now without a nursing chair and a quiet environment to feed my little one, and worried about getting another chair that could be a safety hazard. We use the chair for all feedings while at home and it was part of a calming routine for my baby. Now she is having difficulties sleeping and eating without the glider in her own room.
