  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Sep 24, 2020, sent to the company Oct 8, 2020, published by CPSC Nov 10, 2020

The product, in the report: WALNEW SWIVEL ROCKER RECLINER WITH MASSAGE AND HEAT FUNCTION. Model T-LR9M0SL4 UPC WALMART # 578645309 IT IS MANUALLY OPERATED WITH A LEVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ARM THAT RELEASES THE FOOT REST TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION. IT IS DIFFICULT TO PUT BACK DOWN INTO THE LOCKED POSITION AS YOU MUST MANUALLY PUT PHYSICAL EXERTION USING YOUR LEGS AND ABDOMINAL MUSCLES TO PUSH DOWNWARD UNTIL THE FOOT REST ENGAGES THE LOCKING MECHANISM. THE CHAIR FREELY ROTATES AND IS UNSTABLE.

Purchased a Walnew Swivel Rocker Recliner from Walmart and installed the backrest and connected the electrical cord. I sat down and pulled the lever to recline in the rocking chair with my legs up and as I positioned myself backwards into the backrest the chair fell backwards and I fell to the ground. This happened twice with different chairs of the exact make and model. It is unstable when leaning backwards with the leg support in the up position. It is quite difficult to manually put the foot rest back in the downward position and can twist causing possible injury. The electric cord for the massage and heat function can get caught in the recliner possibly severing the cord posing an electrical shock possibility. One of my recliners had the support brace that connects to the chair base split causing the chair to become very unstable and list to the side causing me to nearly fall backwards off of the chair.
