  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Oct 18, 2013, sent to the company Nov 25, 2013, published by CPSC Dec 10, 2013

The product, in the report: Reclining Chair

Caller purchased his reclining chair March 12th, 2012 _ Chair was manufactured in 2011.

Caller used the chair to sit in but had not used the reclining position until January 2013 after heart bypass surgery.

After his surgery he needed to use the reclining feature because he had to keep his feet elevated.

The first time he tried to use the chair in the reclining position the chair flipped placing him on the floor with his feet solid on the floor but his body lying on the ground and the chair over him hitting his left hip which he said is still tender to the touch. He is reporting this chair as a safety issue both as a stabilization safety issue and as a fabric to skin irritation issue. When he sits in the chair for more than one to two hours his skin becomes extremely sensitive to touch.

He has tried to obtain return or refund through both manufacturers but has had no luck

He said he has tried to work through Consumer Protection within his state in an attempt to return for refund or replacement but this has been unsuccessful.

He is asking for assistance from CPSC because he states that this is not a safe chair by any means.

Caller has not obtained medical assistance for his hip that he believes was injured by the chair tipping over on him

Caller has contacted the manufacturer a few times with the last time being a few months ago.
