The product, in the report: Jason Furniture Leather Swivel Chair SKU number: 2254340 also sold as the following: [REDACTED] Janer Leather Swivel Chair. https://www.macys.com/shop/product/janer-leather-swivel-chair-created-for-macys?ID=16492910&pla_country=US&CAGPSPN=pla&pla_country=US

I purchased a set of recliner chairs from Macy’s that is manufactured by a company called Jason Furniture. the model number is 2254340 and it is called the Annaldo Leather Swivel. This chair has a steel shaft that is made of soft metals. In fact, the entire bottom connector assembly for swivel is made of soft metals that should have been heat-treated but weren’t. This makes them prone to break in a very short period of time. Mine snapped off while I was in the chair and sent my flying backwards to the hardwood floor. If this would have been my 80 yr old mother there would have been a lawsuit. I believe Macy’s furniture gallery knew these were defective and has since discontinued their sale but MANY other retailers still sell them (such as [REDACTED]). A [REDACTED] search for “jason furniture annaldo leather swivel” will show the model. I don’t believe I was seriously injured when falling to the floor but I did get a bit of a sore neck. I can’t imagine what would happen to an elderly person or someone handicapped if the chair broke in a sideways motion instead of straight back. I got lucky. Both the chairs I purchased broke but at different points.
