Hospital admission Made Apr 18, 2012, sent to the company Apr 26, 2012, published by CPSC May 10, 2012
The product, in the report: SKU #14533043 ( I assume is an internal code at Rooms To Go) It’s called ROCKET RECLINER color COFFEE BOGOTA
On Monday 04/16/2012 4:00 PM, my 2-1/2 yr old son got his middle finger in the left hand stuck in the mechanism that release the footrest pad in the bottom, when somehow he got the mechanism activated, while watching TV. My wife had to help him to get his little finger free from the mechanism, which looks like a scissor activated by springs, when the side toggle is activated. My son had to stay over nigh in a Hospital and had to have a 1-1/2 hr surgery on the morning of 04/17/2012 with a hand specialist to take care about his finger. Doctors told us the nail on this finger had to be removed during the procedure, since it got affected too. Doctors do not expect permanent consequences on my son’s finger, but it was to early to say, anyway. We will need to take him for a follow-up visit this Monday 04/23/2012. The reclined was bought at Room-To-Go store, located in 19250 Gulf FWY, Friendswood, TX 77546, back in 11/27/2009. The recliner part number or SKU# is 14533043, according to the original invoices.
