No one hurt Made Nov 9, 2019, sent to the company Dec 12, 2019, published by CPSC Dec 30, 2019
The product, in the report: Recliner
I bought a recliner made by best chairs in may. In the store it was a swivel rocker but the salesperson assured me that it could be made into a recliner, but obviously not. The chair tips forward when in the reclined position. It almost fell on my granddaughter who was on the floor playing. If your weight isn’t distributed just right it will tip forward and throw you from the chair. It is a faulty base design. There is nothing stable about the chair. The furniture store that I purchased it from said there was nothing that they could or would do since it was a special order. If they had told me the possibility of it being a dangerous chair I would have not bought it. I also contacted the manufacturer and their response was an email instructing me how to sit in a chair. I can’t give it away knowing how dangerous that it is. We own and have owned recliners that haven’t done this. I just want them to take the chair back and destroy it so no one gets hurt, and refund the money that I paid for it. Please let me know what is my recourse in what to do to get rid of this dangerous piece of furniture before someone gets hurt and I have to get legal advice.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Mar 1, 2017, sent to the company Mar 15, 2017, published by CPSC Mar 29, 2017
The product, in the report: Recliner with glider feature as well. Best Chair, storytime series.
My 3 1/2 daughter got stuck in recliner-- between the chair and the pop up foot rest. She was in the chair by herself and went to get out and slipped down in that space and the foot rest pushed in. She became stuck and I could not get her out while she cried. My husband was thankfully home and was Able to get her out. I’ve taken her to the doctor and hopefully she has not sustained any serious or life threatening injuries. The recliner was the Best Chair Sleepy-time series.
