No incident, no one hurt Made Mar 3, 2025, sent to the company Mar 10, 2025, published by CPSC Mar 24, 2025
The product, in the report: Babyletto Kiwi Cream Electronic Swivel Glider Power Recliner Nursery Chair with wood base - 41.5”H x 29”W x 36”D Model:11288 - This color combinator (cream with wood base) was sold exclusively through Crate & Barrel. It is currently sold out.
I noticed a strong burning plastic smell in the nursery so I began inspecting all the electric devices. I immediately saw black on the fabric around the reclining buttons/charging port, moved my face closer to it and the smell became even stronger. We unplugged the chair and our neighbor helped my husband move it out of the nursery. Upon further inspection, we saw smoke coming out of the charging port area and the buttons were not working when we plugged it back in momentarily. We immediately unplugged it again.
The chair is the Babyletto Kiwi Electronic Recliner and Swivel Glider with USB port in the Color Cream with a wood base, purchased from Crate & Barrel. The color combination is a Crate & Barrel exclusive.

No one hurt Made Feb 24, 2025, sent to the company Feb 28, 2025, published by CPSC Mar 14, 2025
The product, in the report: babyletto Kiwi electric glider. Kiwi Swivel Reclining Glider MIR10057 Upholstery Color: Performance Beach Eco-Weave
my babyletto kiwi electric glider spontaneously caught fire from the USB port while I was feeding my 10 month old in the chair, even though nothing was plugged into it, and I caught it on video. I was bottlefeeding my 10 month old in a reclined position and nothing was plugged into the USB port. The chair was plugged into a surge protector. Luckily there were no injuries, but I would like to warn as many other consumers as possible with this being a baby product.
