The product, in the report: Leather recliner dark brown

On 5/13/2017, My son purchased a recliner for me. After bringing the chair home. We noticed it had a strong odor. I wiped the chair down with a clean wet cloth. The chair odor was very strong on the right arm. I thought the odor would go away if I would give it time. During this time I started having symptoms of burning eyes, nose and throat. And headaches. I had such a bad headache I had to go in for a C/T scan which was normal. Due to the smell in the chair I kept the right arm covered. I kept sitting in it. What made me realize that the chair was causing my problems, after not sitting in for two days my symptoms were almost gone, I then was in the chair again was really tired, I fell asleep in it. I woke up to burning red swollen eyes. I called Costco where I was advised to put the chair outside of my homes during to bring it back for a full refund when I could. I haven’t returned the chair yet. It is outside now for over a week. It is covered up. The smell is still very strong on the right arm of the chair. If you rub your hand on the chair the smell is on your hands. I haven’t returned the chair to Costco because they wouldn’t assure me that the chair would be tested. I want to know what made me sick. This matter has been reported to VDH. They did go to the store where they found a problem with the label from where it was made in China. I you could lease advise me what to do with this item I want my money back. Which they will give me. I just want you know what’s in this chair.
