Made Aug 19, 2014, sent to the company Aug 27, 2014, published by CPSC Sep 11, 2014

The product, in the report: Product is a cooling towel to be worn around neck while in heat outdoors. It is blue, size is 33” x 13”.

I purchased a O2Cool cooling towel about a 10 days ago. I tried it one week ago following the directions on the package. After wearing the towel for a day, I broke out in a painful and itchy rash on my neck, chest, upper arms - anywhere the towel touched. I was treated by a physician with a shot of steroids and given a 5 day prescription for prednisone. Now a week after the fact, my skin looks like it has chemical burns and is still very painful and swollen.

I recently contacted the company via email, but have not gotten a response. The packaging does not list any of the chemicals in this product.

The product, in the report: O2 Cool Cool by design Arcticloth Cooling Towel

Purchased the 02 Cool Arcticloth Cooling Towel on 7/6/2013 at the Rumford, ME RiteAid. I used this product for the first time on the evening of 7/16/2013 for about 2 hours. I wrapped the cloth around my neck. I wiped my face and chest with the towel. The next morning I had itching burning splotches on my neck and throat that reminded me of poison ivy. Since then the rash has spread up beyond the hair line, down the middle of my back where the sweat dripped from under the towel, covers my neck, my chest, out my arms. My face has blotches and it now is effecting my eyes.

I reported this in a review on Amazon.com where I read of this happening to someone else. Since my review, I have been contacted by someone else who’s child has become very ill from using this product. She said she was reporting this product to CPSC and suggested I do the same.
