The product, in the report: Procom 24” VF Gas Fireplace Logs

Text of submitter’s message dated July 24, 2014:

On 4\4\13 I purchased a purchased a set of gas free logs from Lowe’s Home Centers. They seem to be working fine. This set has a hoarse shoe set base. Example when turning the unit on the process of the flames ignitions first and tallest flame lights in back 2nd a smaller flame lights in the middle 3rd and smallest flame lights in the front. We had trouble with the progression. I contacted the manufacture Procom 2800 Griffin Dr. Bowling Green KT 42101 Phone number 877 866 5989. I was told by a technician that my propane company had said the outside propane tank too low. I contacted Americas 1573 Til co Dr Suite 2 Frederick MD 21704 ............ [REDACTED] They had a tech come out and ste the pressure at 13 (which is not the pressure that come into the unit). Still the logs would not work properly. I called and spoke with several techs with procpom. [REDACTED] and many others and the responses to my concern blase. Now it is November I am working at home (the logs were on) when I started feeling strange. I went up stairs and the smell of GAS WAS VERY STRONG. I did not touch any electrical devices. I went across the street from my home and called 911 for the fire dept. I also called my propane company Amerigas. They both arrived promptly. The fired dept refused my entry into my home to high levels of propane gas. They open and every window and door and brought in industrial fans to blow out the fumes. Both the fire dept and Amerigas agreed that this was brought on by the gas logs and it could have ended tragically. The next several days I called procom and left many messages in regards to this matter. No one returned my call. Phoning again I actually was able to speak to a human [REDACTED]. I explained the entire story he was very sympathetic and said he would get this off to the “legal dept”. Then phone calls were never returned. If I happened get a voice mail the call was never returned. I called again and got [REDACTED] and he starts asking me to provide him all the paper work concerning this matter. Proof of purchase, fire dept. report, gas company report all coming to the same conclusion that the logs are defective. Now [REDACTED] has no further contact with me. Not returning calls, not returning fax. So I get in touch with the Los Angles office and spoke to the head guy there [REDACTED]. He tells me he is aware of the entire situation and ask me “what do you want us to do for you.” I said “ I gave all the information to your legal dept and [REDACTED] requested. And had not heard from anyone in your company si I am contacting you. I am entitled to some kind of compensation. I have damage to my walls, fireplace and mantel piece and would like a new set of logs not at my expense. His response was “ you know what lad get a lawyer” and hung the phone up on me. I tried working with this company for 6 months and this was the end result. This is wrong. Can you help me?
