The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Unvented Gas Logs

I bought a set of gas a few years ago. I did not use them for several years after that because they always burned on high and would overheat the room. About 3 years ago I figured out there was dust in them and blew it out. My logs worked great until the last of last winter. The were difficult to start and then they began to go out. I just thought the gas was low and discontinued use. This year I had the tank filled and they continued to be difficult to light but worked fine. A few weeks ago I decided to have someone look at them because they were going out again. The verdict was that I have a burned electrical wire and a melted plastic knob that could not be seen until the logs were taken apart. My question is what do I do now? Is there a recall on this set of logs or any repair options so I do not have to buy new ones, which I really do not want to have to do, The model number is SHGL - 24VP-R and the seril number is 001765. Thank you.
