Hurt, no treatment Made Sep 2, 2022, sent to the company Sep 9, 2022, published by CPSC Oct 24, 2022
The product, in the report: Firelogs. Package of 6 firelogs. The firelogs are labeled as 4.3 pounds/1.95kg each. Green box, but imdivual firelogs are wrapped in brown paper.
My family was using an enviro-log fire log in the fire pit on our patio. The firelog exploded, sending red hot embers and debris up to an 8 foot radius from the fire pit. Some of the concrete in our fire pit also broke off and shot pieces/debris out of the fire pit. Multiple burning embers landed on our patio furniture and melted the fabric/burned holes. One hole was from a large ember and it is deep enough and wide enough to fit a baseball inside the hole. One adult sustained a very small burn on his back from one of the embers. Some embers landed in the grass but the ground was wet so luckily they did not start a fire.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Jan 12, 2017, sent to the company Feb 6, 2017, published by CPSC Mar 22, 2017
The product, in the report: Enviro log, Inc. log fire starter. Package claims to be 100 % recycled wax cardboard.
In late December, I used a purchased Enviro-log log fire starter made by in an outdoor fire pit. The log had an usual odor, and as it burned a few pieces of what appeared to be cloth, about 3 inch by 4 inch dimensions, came off. The next day I was ill with respiratory problems. I am wondering what the makers of these logs are putting in them. It smelled and some of the material coming off looked like trash. I am concerned if they are putting trash from landfills (some of which may be hazardous) into these things and people like me are burning them and getting sick. My respiratory issue went away in a few days. Is anyone at Consumer Product safety Commission testing these logs for content. If not, I recommend they do.
