Made Aug 24, 2011, sent to the company Sep 26, 2011, published by CPSC Oct 12, 2011

The product, in the report: Bunk Bed (Wood)

Consumer stated that while her 5 year old son who weighs about 45 pounds was climbing across the bed which is a loft ( located at the top, open space beneath it) she heard the bed braces cracked and pulled him off immediately to prevent him from falling through to the floor. There was no injury. The side boards broke on the bed. These braces where pre-assembled before she put the bed together.

8/22/11 Consumer stated that she contacted the manufacturer and was advised that they could replaced the braces and she inquired if they would be different from the original because it was not supportive. Manufacturer advised that they were not able to do anything else.

Consumer feels that this bed is a safety hazard and should be reported.
