The product, in the report: It is a bunk bed sold by Black Forest Decor and their Item number is UFBWBUNKBEDTT
We purchase a twin of twin Barnwood Bunkbed from Black Forest Decor; Item number UFBWBUNKBEDTT. After owning this bunk bed for [some time] it suddenly collapsed this past week dropping the upper bunk onto the lower bunk. If someone had been in the lower bunk at the time it would have certainly caused serious injury. The cause of the failure is that the slats provided are at least one and a half inches too short. Because the slats are too short it causes the side rails to slowing rotate over time until they suddenly release the slats, causing the bed to fall. Our solution was to get new slats that are 44.5” long vs. the 43” slats provided with the bed, and to screw the ends of the slats into the rails. This assures that the rails cannot rotate and release the slats.
