The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Bunk Bed Set

Caller is reporting her bunk bed set and has explained that it has the same issue that the sets recalled with release# 13-195 have wrong with them.

She has the beds taken down to be used as twin beds only and in separate rooms only because the side panel is cracking at the headboard and the footboard then there are three horizontal pieces that hold the mattress that will not stay in place.

She has not contacted the manufacturer but does intend to contact them.

There are no injuries being reported at this time.

On November 25th at approx 12 noon, our 2 week old bunk bed broke and fell through with child lying on the bed. If my 3 year old had been on the bunk bed underneath at that time, it would have killed him. Child fell through and hit his head pretty hard.

The product, in the report: Its a tri- bunk bed set that came with a dresser and a desk. The unit was made from wood or wood material. The unit is of a dark color. Pictures can be provided if needed.

We purchased a tri-bunk bed for our 6 year old son back in March of 2010. The bed started peeling paint and both ladders fell off the unit. We reported this to the company where we bought the set from ( Affordable Fine Funiture located at (770) 898-6424 1557 Highway 20 W, McDonough, GA30253). The compnay got back with us a few months later and stated that the warranty company stated that the claim was denied due to child’s wear. We asked for the company information ( warranty holder) and the comapny refused to provide us with it. On October 30, 2011 our son [redacted] got in his upper bed ( the one thats over his desk) and the entire bed collasped with him in it. both parents rushed into his room to find him on the floor screaming, and holding the back of his head. His knee was scraped up. The next morning after calling Affordable Fine Funiture serval times without getting an answer, I decided to drive by the store and inform them of what had happened. The store owner didnt show any concern, she was trying to rush me out the store, and claim she didnt have the warranrty company’s number.
