  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 6, 2026, sent to the company Jul 9, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 23, 2026

The product, in the report: Twin-size metal loft bed with built-in desk, LED lights, charging station, storage shelves, eight fabric drawers, ladder, and full-length guardrails. Black/Grey finish. Purchased from Walmart Marketplace in July 2025.

I am reporting a structural failure involving a twin-size metal loft bed with a desk, storage drawers, and ladder. The bed was purchased in July 2025 through Walmart Marketplace and had been used under normal household conditions.

My 9-year-old daughter was lying in bed reading when the metal U-brackets supporting the bed frame failed without warning. The bed support collapsed, causing the mattress and my daughter to fall to the floor. She weighs approximately 90 pounds, and the foam mattress weighs approximately 45 pounds, for a combined weight of about 135 pounds. The product was advertised with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds.

Fortunately, my daughter was not seriously injured, but she was frightened by the incident. Based on the way the bed failed during normal use and at a weight well below the advertised capacity, I am concerned that this product presents a structural safety hazard. I also own a second identical bed, and I no longer feel it is safe for my other child to use because of this incident.

I reported the incident to Walmart and the Marketplace seller. Walmart opened a seller complaint and categorized the report as a potential product safety issue.
