No one hurt Made Nov 22, 2011, sent to the company Dec 1, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 15, 2011
The product, in the report: Wooden bunk bed with trundle and 3 drawers. Color Espresso. Twin on top and Full at the bottom. The trundle is twin. Ladder is attached with the head/foot board.
I received my new wooden bunkbed for my guest room around 2nd week of October 2011 from K&A Furniture in Fairfield, CA. I could not find the Model# from the bunkbed but these are the informations the store owner gave me: BK458F-EXP and manufactured by Furniture of America. I googled online and it showed me the exact image of the furniture. The product was made in Vietnam with a manufacturing date of 08/2011. After a week of sleeping on it, the wooden side rail at the bottom that run from the headboard to the footboard cracked. The cracked was about 8 inches long. Fortunately, no one was injured. I think the maximum capacity of EACH bed should not exceed 140lbs and so far my brother is not beyond the allowed weight capacity.
I bought the bunkbed for $750.00. I called the store and they were so quick to fix the issue. They glued the cracked rail but after a night, it cracked again. The store called the manufacturing company and they are replacing the broken rail. And here’s another problem, we are still waiting for the replacement part at this moment but the other side of the same rail (already damaged rail) got another cracked. I am thinking eventually this will cause the bunk bed to split and collapse. We stop using the product for the main time or until it is fixed.
Thank you.
