  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 26, 2016, sent to the company Oct 3, 2016, published by CPSC Oct 18, 2016

The product, in the report: Bunk bed - twin on top and full size on bottom. Wood frame with metal slats supporting the mattresses.

The metal slats holding up the bottom full size mattress in the bed separated and broke apart. This is a bunk bed - twin size on top and full size bed on bottom. The same style of metal slats holds both the twin mattress on top and the full size mattress on the bottom. The top bunk is rarely used anymore but originally our middle daughter slept there and the bottom bunk is where the youngest sleeps on the full size mattress. The lengthwise metal slat bent, and the cross-wise round tube slats broke in half and separated from the lengthwise slat. She was not injured, but the lower bed is no longer usable, and the safety of the top bank is very doubtful.
