The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Kohler Bidet Seat Model K-4711

    Hello,

I have a Kohler K-4711 toilet Seat with Bidet Functionality that seems to have an electrical problem. When I touch the control area, I get a very mild electrical “tingling” on my fingers. The seat was installed a few years ago and this problem started a few weeks back. i think there might be a danger of electrocution.

    Thank You.

The product, in the report: Toilet

04/30/2016 - The consumer indicates that the toilet kept flushing itself without being used. The sensor where one waves their hand for the unit to flush eventually started smoking and caught fire. The consumer’s husband proceeded to disconnect the unit.

The consumer indicates that the part that caught fire is black and is partially melted.

The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained the situation. She was asked to send a receipt of her transaction, which the consumer did. The consumer has spoken to their representatives on numerous occasions and they keep asking for the receipt and giving her the runaround.

The consumer indicates that she has been having this same problem since the unit was purchased; the manufacturer has sent replacement parts for the three parts in the tank. The problem persists.

The consumer does not plan on keeping the unit for the next thirty days.

The consumer added the touchless flush valve has been returned to the manufacturer, at their request, and Kohler has addressed their concerns about the toilet.

The product, in the report: Kohler elongated bowl seat

This is supposed to be a quick release for easy cleaning product. However, the caps that are supposed to keep the release mechanism from releasing aren’t strong enough and they release unexpectedly. My son was thrown forward and fell in the bathroom.

The product, in the report: White elongated Kohler toilet seat with soft close

The Kohler toilet seat, slips and will detach from the seat if you do not sit perfectly still. Too embarrassed to take the seat back. I also think it has a weight issue.
