  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 27, 2018, sent to the company Sep 4, 2018, published by CPSC Sep 18, 2018

The product, in the report: Bathroom glass bowl sink.

On August 17th, 2018 at 2:45 pm, my wife and I were sitting in the kitchen when we heard what sounded like an explosion upstairs. It turns out that our bathroom glass bowl sink exploded and sent shards of glass all over the room. Fortunately nobody was hurt. There must have been several hundreds of pieces of glass everywhere, in the tub, toilet bowl and into the hallway.

The product, in the report: http://www.decolav.com/translucence/1129t.html This is the site and dimensions, etc.

I came home and went upstairs to my bathroom and I noticed that my fairly new (only 6 months old) tempered glass sink had “exploded”. It didn’t crack. There were large chunks of glass all over the bathroom. shards embedded into my wall and my tiles and grouting on the floor. I took pictures and cleaned up the mess. This is a Decolav 1129TFCR model.

I contacted the supplier and they are going to contact the manufacturer for me. The fact that I could have been in there brushing my teeth scares the heck out of me. I have double sinks and I’m asking for a FULL refund of both sinks and I will purchase different sinks to replace them.
