According to the product previously described, (battery for hand held lantern/flashlight), this product caused serious problems, not only in our health, but also loss of material. This product has a Leak Free label attached, but it is not leak free. Approximately at the beginning of April 2016, the users-( [REDACTED]) went to buy a battery at Harbor Freight Tools, Camarillo, Texas. The warehouse is located on 1-40, next to the corner of Ross Street. We wanted to buy a good battery for the hand held lantern in order to be prepared for any emergency, especially at night due to electrical power cuts or snow storm, blizzard, electrical storms, etc. We had to make a trip outside of Amarillo, TX during the last week of the April 2016 for medical issues. For every trip we take a good lantern with us as a precaution. The battery was installed in the lantern and we put it behind the bedroom door. On July 3rd, 2016 at 9:00am, [REDACTED] saw a spot of liquid on the floor where the lantern was placed. She thought that the liquid was water on the floor and she decided to clean it up with a paper towel. Two days later, between 09:00am or 09:30am, [REDACTED], opened the door of the bedroom slowly. The lantern was on the laminated floor between the wall and the door. At approximately 11:30am, [REDACTED] noticed water like liquid on the floor. The liquid spot was around 14” of diameter. She thought that it was water and she decided to clean it up with paper towels without gloves. After she cleaned up, [REDACTED] suffered headaches all day and night. No pain killer could calm the headache Two days later, the same liquid appeared on the floor where the lantern was placed. [REDACTED] cleaned it up again, but she saw that the laminated floor was deformed because of this chemical liquid. In addition she sensed a strong smell coming from the lantern battery. She washed her hands, but her headache persisted. The bed was three feet away from the lantern, so she and her husband inhaled the chemical smell day and night. The issue was reported verbally to the manager of Harbor Freight of Amarillo, TX --[REDACTED] in July 2016. [REDACTED] made an appointment with us on August 5, 2016. We attended and we explained what happened then he helped us to fill out the complaint/claim, then he sent the complaint to the CA office. [REDACTED], informed to us that his superiors never contacted him and never answered any of his phone calls. He gave us the main phone office number: [REDACTED] and the claim office number [REDACTED] After Aug 5th, 2016 we sent two letters to Claims Department in Amarillo, CA. We called so many times, but they never answered the phone. We know that the chemical liquid is cancerous and very dangerous for us. Our question is: What will happen if a kid plays with that chemical liquid spilt on the floor or take her/his hand to his mouth? This company Harbor Freight with a CA base is selling tools or articles that are very risky and dangerous. More questions: Why does America have to pay for bad products from China? Why does America have to use products from China which are made with poor quality control. Thanks for your cooperation and help in this issue. We hope that this problem which happened to us can be prevented for others who buy this battery made in China with poor quality control, and short life span in comparison to American products.

Sincerely, [REDACTED] Email: [REDACTED] Phone: [REDACTED]
