  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 17, 2017, sent to the company Mar 15, 2017, published by CPSC Mar 29, 2017

The product, in the report: Rechargeable flashlight. 3 models. Listed Federal standard NOM-001SCF1. Sold in USA, Mexico and 3 other countries. New product. The US distributor is www.hardwarefy.com located in Maimi Lakes Florida. The product is one of a line of products apparently manufactured in China under the line name”Truper”

This flashlight started a fire all by itself while left unattended inside a bag of clothes. The brand is “Pretul” purchased at Bodega grocery store in Progreso Mexico on February 9, 2017. It has a rechargeable battery. My wife burned her hand reaching into the bag as she was unaware of the smouldering fire in the clothes. It could have been worse if this occurred inside an aeroplane or automobile. This product is extremely dangerous. It should not be sold and should not be transported on any airline in the United States.

The main danger with this product is that many tourists and other travellers can place this flashlight in -their luggage and then board an airplane. They need to be warned that this “Pretul” brand will start a fire all on it’s own. Travellers need to be warned about this as soon as possible. 1. Can your media people put out this information on traditional media as well as social media. The photo tells it all. 2. Can the airlines be warned officially by the Government. The warning can be simple and clear. Here’s my photo of the product that burned my wife’s hand.
